NY dental executive accused of stealing $400,000 from employer.
Carla Fisher-Schmitt, a 44-year-old woman from Clay, New York, has found herself in legal trouble.
She was the director of operations at Cicero Dental Associates, a dental practice in the Syracuse area.
Carla Fisher-Schmitt, 44, is charged with felony grand larceny, accused of stealing money from Cicero Dental Associates from January 2021 until Oct. 16, 2023.
She faces charges of felony grand larceny and could potentially serve up to seven years in prison if convicted.
It’s a stark reminder of the consequences that can follow financial misconduct.
Fisher-Schmitt is accused of thefts in a variety of ways: unauthorized bank transfers and purchases, bank withdrawals, credit card withdrawals and receiving a higher wage than she earned, prosecutors said.
State police began investigating in December. She was arrested this month and her case is headed for a grand jury.
Fisher-Schmitt remains free without bail as her case progresses. She faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
