A dental hygienist was arrested Monday after stolen dental equipment from their job was found inside her home, police said.
Christina Mannise, 41, of Salina, was arrested after her employer at Kevin Sorge Dental Office in Fayetteville discovered equipment was missing, Manlius Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.
Her employer told police about the missing equipment after conducting an internal investigation of the dental practice at 304 S. Manlius St., police said.
After launching their own criminal investigation, police said they found Mannise selling and posting multiple pieces of stolen equipment on eBay. One of the items was a dental handpiece, said Sgt. Kenneth Hatter, a spokesperson for Manlius Police.
Mannise started taking equipment from the office in October 2023, he said.
A search warrant was issued for Mannise’s home where two pieces of stolen dental equipment were recovered, police said.
Mannise is accused of stealing more than $3,000 in dental equipment. She was charged with third-degree grand larceny.
