Dental office employee arrested for allegedly stealing over $600k in 8 months
MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Myrtle Beach police arrested an employee of a dental office after the business reported an alleged breach of trust in August.
On Aug. 20, officers responded to Affordable Dentures & Implants located at 1267 38th Avenue North after the regional manager filed a complaint against employee Ashanti Kinney.
Kinney’s job was to collect money from customers and deposit it at the bank, the report states.

Investigators retrieved bank records, audit documents, and scheduling paperwork. The documents showed that from Jan. 1 to Aug. 15, Kinney allegedly stole $612,990.20 from the business.
Officials say Kinney was going through patient accounts and marking them down as “paid” for the procedures, but was keeping the cash.
Kinney was arrested on Tuesday and is charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent. She posted a $20,000 bond and has been released from jail.

Since her release, Kinney has been active on Facebook, where she appears to show that nothing is wrong as she posts her weekly Sunday night dinner.
On her latest post, a caption describing the dinner finished with the hashtag ‘600k’ accompanied by a laughing emoji.
Under the post, a friend of Kinney’s commented: ‘AND IF YOU DID THE F***. MAYBE THEY WASN’T PAYING ENOUGH.’
To which she replied: ‘It’s all good! I promise you my family would have been taken care of! FIRST! It’s no way.’
The friend then continued, saying that the media is making this story out of nothing and that there was no way Kinney could have done it, given how she watches her kids.
Kinney responded: ‘exactly! I would have moved so damn fast away from Myrtle Beach they would have NEVER caught my a**.
Laughing emojis accompanied everyone her comments when speaking about the ‘$600k’.
